Export buyer research

BYD ATTO 3 export buyer reference

Use the BYD ATTO 3 as a market-specific purchase candidate, then verify the exact VIN, equipment, documents and destination approval before payment.

What the evidence identifies

The BYD ATTO 3 name points to a compact battery-electric SUV family rather than one globally identical export unit. BYD Europe's cited page names Active, Comfort and Design versions, front-wheel drive and a BladeBattery with LFP chemistry. Those statements describe the European record used here. They do not identify the battery, software, connector, camera package or trim of an unexamined vehicle.

The same European page reports 420 km WLTP combined, 150 kW, 7.3 seconds from 0-100 km/h, 160 km/h and 555/1,338 litres of cargo space. BYD also says actual range and consumption depend on driving, speed, temperature, route and auxiliary loads. Treat every number as a dated, market-specific reference and request the original datasheet for the VIN under negotiation.

Configuration and market variation

A Singapore-market 2025 specification sheet records a different set of figures: 60.5 kWh, 100 kW, 310 Nm, front-wheel drive, CCS2 DC charging and Type 2 AC charging. It also lists a 420 km WLTP combined figure. The difference in published power, cargo figure and equipment language is a practical warning that an export listing must be tied to a country, model year and configuration.

For a buyer comparing a Chinese, European, Singaporean or other-market car, ask for VIN photographs, the build plate, battery label, type certificate, connector specification, charging limits and complete equipment list. Do not infer market availability from a web page in another country. A seller's description is evidence only when it matches the documents for the offered vehicle.

Safety evidence and model year

Euro NCAP's September 2025 assisted-driving assessment relates to the 2025 model-year ATTO 3. Euro NCAP says that car uses a Bosch assisted-driving system and reports a Good result for the assessed Intelligent Cruise Control System. The same assessment distinguishes the 2022 model-year car and its earlier Veoneer system, so the result cannot be transferred to every ATTO 3 carrying the same name.

The assessment describes system behaviour in defined highway, inter-urban and urban domains, including limitations around driver monitoring, speed-sign recognition and blocked sensors. It is not a destination approval, a guarantee for a used import, or proof that local software and equipment are identical. Match model year, hardware, software version and test vehicle before using the result in a purchase decision.

Export checks before payment

The central export question is whether the exact car can be legally registered and practically supported where it will be used. The UNECE vehicle-regulations reference is a starting point for approval research, not evidence that this BYD is approved in a particular destination. Ask the importer or authority about type approval, left- or right-hand-drive rules, lighting, charging connector, radio equipment, cybersecurity paperwork and required documents.

Also confirm that the local BYD app, OTA service, navigation, emergency-call function, remote features, language pack and public-charging compatibility work after import. Request written battery terms, service locations, parts route and recall lookup for the VIN. None of those commercial or after-sales conditions is safely inferred from the European model page or the Singapore brochure.

Landed-cost decision

Build the quotation from the exact car, not from a headline price or a European range claim. Separate vehicle price, inspection, inland transport, export documents, freight, insurance, duty, tax, port handling, conformity work, registration, charging equipment and any required software or hardware changes. The record contains no destination price and no universal landed-cost estimate.

A sensible go or no-go decision records the VIN, production date, market specification, battery and connector evidence, approval path, service plan and a dated seller offer. Keep unknowns visible: market availability, warranty, recalls, parts, range in the destination climate and resale treatment all require local confirmation. The ATTO 3 may be a credible candidate, but the evidence does not justify calling an unverified unit ready for every market.

Frequently asked questions

Does every BYD ATTO 3 have the European 420 km range?

No. 420 km WLTP combined is reported on the cited BYD Europe page and also appears in the Singapore sheet, but test cycle, market, model year and configuration still need to match the offered car. BYD notes that real use varies.

Can the 2025 Euro NCAP assisted-driving result be applied to a 2022 car?

Not automatically. Euro NCAP identifies different model-year systems and assesses the 2025 car separately. Verify the vehicle's production date, hardware and software before using the result.

Is the ATTO 3 approved for my destination?

This record does not establish approval anywhere. Ask the destination authority or qualified importer to confirm the exact type code, documents, drive side, lighting, charging and registration requirements.

What should an export buyer request from the seller?

Request the VIN, build date, complete datasheet, battery and connector evidence, type certificate, equipment list, service and battery terms, recall lookup and a dated quotation. Confirm local app, OTA, parts and registration support in writing.
